Shopify Launches New Mobile App Shopping Experience

Shopify launches Shop, a digital shopping assistant that brings together the best features of Arrive and Shop Pay (formerly Shopify Pay).

This new feature will make it easy for customers to speed through checkout, track their order and shipment details, and rediscover brands they love.

Shop helps businesses sell more by making it easier for customers to buy. From product discovery to package delivery, Shop takes care of the little extras, making online shopping more personal and convenient for your customers.

Improve Conversion

Nearly a quarter of U.S. shoppers have admitted to abandoning their carts because the checkout process was too long or too complicated. By utilizing a fast and intuitive checkout experience, it will help merchants save a lot of sales that other otherwise would have been lost.

All purchases through Shop are powered by Shop Pay, Shopify’s fastest accelerated checkout experience. The ecommerce platform claims they have seen conversion rates improve by up to 18% for returning customers after an online merchant enables Shop Pay.

Shop unlocks these step-change improvements into a store’s checkout without requiring any changes to the actual storefront. Once a store owner flips the switch to activate Shop Pay, the option for accelerated checkout will be available to all customers.

As customers complete their initial purchase on any Shopify hosted store with Shop Pay enabled, they’ll see an option to save payment details to Shop Pay.

During future purchases, the option to check out with Shop Pay is shown immediately to every customer who has already saved their information.

And once they download Shop, customers will receive personalized product recommendations based on their purchase history.

Customers Will Return Faster

As the average cost to acquire a customer has risen substantially in recent years, Shopify is working to help keep customers returning to each merchant.

Repeat purchases are often where businesses make a profit and Shop gives independent businesses a new channel that automatically recommends products to their existing customers.

Shop drives branding through in-app recommendations that circle customers back to each Shopify merchant’s store.

A user’s Shops tab acts as a personalized shopping feed that populates with product picks, special deals, and new arrivals based on their purchase history and the brands they follow on Shop.

The benefit for Shopify merchants is that Shop does a lot of digital marketing and retargeting without the store owner having to lift a finger.

Shop Supports Local Businesses

One way Shop helps small businesses is by showing customers if your business is nearby and if the store offers in-store or curbside pickup.

Now, customers can find businesses in their area and opt for local pickup in case they’d rather not wait for delivery.

Shop also helps boost buyer confidence with Shop Facts, a feature that highlights relevant signals of trust wherever a business appears in the Shop app. Without having to ask, customers will know that your business is still active and shipping orders quickly.

There are no settings to adjust as Shop Facts automatically displays details that strengthen customer trust. Once an order is on its way to a customer, Shop helps maintain that trust by providing transparent order and shipment information.
