Shopify launches Shopify Chat, a new feature that allows merchants to chat with customers while visiting their webstore.
The new real-time chat feature is fully integrated into Shopify and builds on Shopify Ping, their mobile app that centralized customer communications along with automated marketing workflows.
Shopify merchants can enable Shopify Chat easily and quickly inside Shopify Ping. Once enabled, it will appear on all pages of their online store.
Now available on all browsers and operating systems, customers can ask product questions, request order updates, and receive discount codes.
With Shopify’s unique keyboard inside Shopify Ping, shoppers will have access to a Shopify store’s products and discounts without ever leaving the conversation. This allows merchants to quickly and easily provide product recommendations, discounts, checkout links, and more.
Shopify Chat adds to the existing list of chat functions available within Shopify Ping including Facebook Messenger and Apple Business Chat, all of which are available at no additional cost.
