Shopify announced on Monday they are the first eCommerce platform to enable Google Pay for its merchants.
With over 70 percent of all traffic coming to Shopify merchants from mobile devices, the checkout process on mobile is vitally important to conversion.
With a single click in their store settings, Shopify merchants can now enable Google Pay. This unlocks for merchants an accelerated checkout experience for their customers.
With fewer clicks and a mobile-first design, Android users now have access to their credit and debit card information stored on Chrome via the “Google Pay” button.
“The checkout process can often make or break the completion of a purchase. When shoppers encounter a lot of friction on a mobile device, they’re more likely to abandon their carts.
Shopify is always looking for ways to arm our merchants with tools to provide the best customers experiences, and by enabling Google Pay across our entire platform, we are helping our merchants tackle one of the toughest challenges in the industry – cart abandonment.
With Google Pay, consumers globally will experience a frictionless checkout process on Shopify stores, generating more sales for our merchants.”
