Magento releases security updates and enhancements to Magento 2

Magento, an Adobe Company
  • Significant performance upgrades with over 20% improvement in page-load times, and up to 90% improvement in category browsing for large catalogs.
  • Several bulk actions now run in the background, allowing administrators to continue working without having to wait for tasks to complete.
  • Over 130 product quality enhancements across many critical areas of the platform.

Magento update details

The newest Magento release benefited from Adobe’s sophisticated security tools and the large reach of its Adobe HackerOne bug bounty program.

Adobe released Magento Commerce 2.3.2, Magento Open Source 2.3.2, Magento 2.2.9 and Magento 2.1.18 today to deliver security enhancements for customers using these versions.

Unfortunately, the Magento 2.1.18 software release marks the final supported software release for Magento version 2.1. Adobe said that as of June 30, Magento 2.1 will no longer receive security updates or product quality fixes now that its support window has expired.

Developers and merchants can review the latest release notes for more information on the updates. The Security Center has additional information about security updates included in these new versions.

Obviously, Adobe recommends merchants upgrade their installations as soon as possible to ensure their site is secure and optimized.

Q2 product enhancements

Also, during Q2, Magento made enhancements to their cloud platform and Page Builder content tool.

Cloud platform monitoring and development enhancements

Now available for Magento Commerce Pro, New Relic Infrastructure provides merchants with flexible, dynamic server monitoring.

Additionally, the company introduced continued enhancements to the cloud developer experience, including improved local development using Docker and expanded self-service environment configuration capabilities that ensure reliable deployments and speed up time to launch. Page Builder and content migration tools

The recently released content migration module helps merchants using the BlueFoot extension upgrade to Magento Commerce 2.3.1+ with Page Builder without the risk of losing their website content.

Developers can find more details in the Bluefoot Content Migration Developers Guide and learn how Page Builder helps merchants own their narrative and create richer shopping experiences here.
