Lazada Will Have Fully Automated Warehouse By Next Year

Lazada if you are not already aware is the Philippines’ premiere eCommerce platform. As eCommerce continues to grow, many businesses are adapting to this growth and finding new ways to grow along with it. In Lazada’s case, this will come in the form of a fully automated warehouse which is planned for next year.

The need to become fully automated using artificial intelligence and robotics is a growing demand for the whole of eCommerce to keep up with demand.

Traditional handling of goods through human labor force isn’t enough anymore. A fully automated warehouse can get the job done much easier and much faster.

“We have to continue productivity and the robot will be bringing productivity to the people so that we can create a sustainable long term business for Philippines for the years to come,” Inanc Balci, Lazada, CEO

That would mean then that a fully automated warehouse will bring productivity up to a much higher level.

Automated Warehouses The New eCommerce Necessity?

The first fully automated Lazada warehouse has already been launched in Malaysia last year, and Balci has said that same automation will have to come to the Philippines soon as well to keep up with growing demand.

While that is in the plan for Lazada, the company is also aiming to hire more people at the same time as it plans to expand even further in the Philippines.

Balci has said that the company is focused on growth, and this growth is through expansion. With eCommerce certainly continuing to grow, companies like Lazada have to grow along with it in order to stay involved in the industry.

The mix of artificial intelligence, robotics and human workforce will certainly be needed in order to meet the demands of an expanding eCommerce industry.
