Google Play France

French consumers and retailers have more payment options now as Google Pay finally launched in France.

google search logoGoogle Pay faces its competitors Samsung Pay and Apple Pay head-on with its relentless global expansion, getting support for Visa and Mastercards issued by six French banks and credit card companies, namely Boon, Boursorama Banqu, Edenred France, Lydia, N26, and Revolut.

According to reports a seventh one, Up, is joining the lineup very soon. Credit and debit card users can check the Google Pay Help page to ensure that the cards they are using are compatible with the payment app.

Google Pay for Online Shopping

France will surely see a boost in contactless payments not only in brick-and-mortar stores but also in eCommerce stores.

Google has partnered with several online retailers like Deliveroo, Flixbus, Asos, and Ryanair, hence the payment process for online shoppers will be a breeze.

All they have to do is download Google Pay from the Play Store, link a credit or debit card to the app, and then pay for their purchases using their nfc-enabled smartphones.

As far as its European expansion is concerned, Google Pay is also available in Denmark, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Norway, Ireland, Sweden, Italy, Poland, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

It looks like nothing can stop Google from ramping up its mobile payment platform. Share your thoughts about the company’s aggressive expansion down in the comments or over in our Facebook Group here.
