Etsy announced today they will be holding their first holiday sales event from November 20 to December 1. This is part of the type of on-platform promotions the company discussed during their recent earnings call.

While the company did not provide details on the creative they will use, the dates do fall around the Thanksgiving weekend and Black Friday/Cyber Monday days.

Etsy wants seller to be ready, and they are asking that seller prepare listings that could benefit from that sale. To participate in the sales event, use the Sales and Coupons tool in Shop Manager to discount your listings between 10% and 60% off during that time.

Etsy also published a holiday guide, which you can find here.

  1. I’d love to participate in this sale, but i was hoping to offer free shipping as my discount, rather than a percentage off certain listings. Is this not an option for participation? Perhaps I’m wrong, but I’m not seeing any info stating that is an option.

    My Etsy shop is Transmigration.

Do I have to create my own free shipping promo and if I do it during those same dates, would I get the benefit of being included in Etsy’s promo?

    Thank you.

      • Fantastic. Let us us know how it works out for you. We think Etsy is doing a lot of good things for sellers and improving the platform and offering more options to properly market your products should be a huge benefit to sellers.

Thank you for all your comments,
        Richard
