Etsy makes public experiments of new features or options it is testing on its platform. In most cases only a few buyers or sellers will see these tests.
Whenever we learn of a new test, we will publish it on our site. You can also check all current tests by following this link.
When a test has concluded, we will update the title of the post as [Closed], meaning the test has ended.
A concluded test does not mean the feature is live or will go live soon. Sometimes Etsy may decide the feature or option it was testing wasn’t generating the results they expected.
Test Name: Testing a ‘Super Seller’ badge on some listing pages
What Etsy is Testing: Etsy has added a ‘Super Seller’ badge on the listing pages of sellers that are eligible. Sellers are eligible for the ‘Super Seller’ badge if they:
- Have more than 25 sales
- Ship on time for the majority of orders (including sellers who sell digital downloads)
- And have 5 or more reviews, with the majority of reviews being 5 stars
Goal: Give shoppers more confidence in making a purchasing decision by showing them when a seller is running a successful shop, per the Super Seller criteria.
Audience: A percentage of buyers on Etsy
Start Date: October 2018
Our Take: With trust in marketplaces high and Etsy already using a five-star review system for sellers and products, this badge seems redundant.
Here is the image of the badge being used. We have noticed that the words ‘Super Seller’ can appear to the left or right of the badge.
