eBay UK reminds sellers of new item specifics requirements

eBay UK

eBay UK issued a note to sellers regarding a change that went into effect this week on its marketplace.

As announced in April, from 10th July 2019, from 10th July 2019, sellers will need to complete additional item specifics on their new and revised listings across 3 categories in Home & Garden.

Please note: Good ‘til Cancelled listings won’t be blocked on renewal.

These new requirements for Home & Garden listings will help drive visibility and conversion for sellers, giving buyers an improved and more relevant search experience.

The required item specifics to help your listings to be found are:

  • Bedding
  • Rugs & Carpets
  • Furniture

Sellers who complete item specifics sell better than those who don’t.

Based on data from sales in the Furniture category on eBay UK from May 2019 to June 2019, furniture listings with size item specific filled in sold 56% better than those without.

All categories requiring item specifics, including the additional categories above for Home & Garden, can be found using the downloadable lists on eBay’s dedicated Item specifics Seller Centre page.
