eBay announced today they have added a new feature to its listing flow.
Sellers using eBay to list items on the website now find a new step in the listing flow that provides pricing information from active listings for the same item.
eBay also stated that as more information is updated by the selling community in the product catalog, the company will offer information also on similar products.
Useful For Occasional Sellers
This new feature seems to aim at the occasional sellers that use the web interface to list products.
It is also another way for eBay to expand its catalog listing process and provide instant feedback to sellers about the competitiveness of their listing.
The downside to this feature is that it may force sellers into a race to the bottom by emphasizing pricing over other key purchase decision metrics such as the condition, item location, or shipping speed.
