DHL Express Announces Global Rate Increases for 2019

We are now in the time of the year when many logistics carriers will release 2019 rate adjustments, and this year DHL was the first one out of the box.

DHL shippers in many regions will see their rates increase by an average of 4.9 percent. In some countries, DHL is also raising shipping rates for specific weight categories.

For example, in Australia, DHL will have an average rate increase of 13.0% for shipments weighing more than 300 kg.

The rate increases focus on select markets and notably absent from the list are Germany and U.S., two of DHL larger and very competitive markets.

But there are many countries in the Asia-Pacific region and Central America on the list along with select European markets, including the U.K.

“The DHL Express network has been considerably strengthened over the last year, with the addition of new hubs with automated sorting capabilities and enhanced security measures in order to meet the requirements of our customers, partners and transport authorities.”

Ian Wilson, CEO, DHL Express UK
