BigCommerce announced they have partnered with Visa to provide Visa Checkout to its 55,000+ small and medium-sized retailers.
Visa Checkout stores customers’ payment and address information and enables enrolled users to checkout in just a few clicks. The service already has over 28 million users that routinely shop online with Visa Checkout.
In a study published by Visa, Visa Checkout enrolled customers completed 86 percent of transactions from the shopping cart.
Compare this number to the typical conversion rate of 51 percent using other checkout methods, and there is a good case to add Visa Checkout to your online store.
Also, with an increase in mobile ecommerce, simplifying the checkout process is vital for merchants. Many consumers are reluctant to spend time entering credit card and address information on a mobile screen. Visa Checkout can simplify this process.
Visa is one of the most reputable payments brands worldwide, and adding Visa Checkout to our robust selection of market-leading payment solutions further demonstrates our commitment to helping our customers stay at the forefront of the industry.
Jimmy Duvall, Chief Product Officer for BigCommerce
According to another study by the Baymard Institute, 68% of online shopping carts are abandoned before the purchase is completed, and 27% of shoppers believe the checkout process is too long and complicated.
In short, the more clicks a shopper has to push to finalize a purchase, the more time they get to change their mind. With Visa Checkout, BigCommerce merchants have access to a reputable brand and service and a simplified checkout process.
Visa is thrilled to partner with BigCommerce to bring Visa Checkout to its network of retailers to make digital payments more streamlined than ever before.
We are constantly looking for partners who also work towards our goal of convenient and secure payments, and BigCommerce’s commitment to empowering merchants to accept payments more rapidly is in lockstep with Visa’s vision for the future of eCommerce.
