In July, Amazon announced the company was adding three more fulfillment centers to its U.S. logistics network to bring faster delivery to more people.

New Fulfillment Center – Pflugerville, Texas

A new fulfillment center in the city of Pflugerville, Texas is anticipated to launch in 2021 and will create 1,000 new full-time jobs.

“We’re appreciative of the people of Texas for so warmly embracing Amazon into the community,” said Alicia Boler Davis, Amazon’s vice president of global customer fulfillment.

“There are now over 20,000 Texan Amazonians working for us in the state – and we’re excited to be creating an additional 1,000 full-time jobs in Pflugerville with Amazon’s industry-leading benefits, and minimum starting wage from $15 an hour,” added Boler Davis.

At the new 820,000 square-foot fulfillment center employees will work alongside Amazon robotics to pick, pack and ship small items to customers such as books, electronics and toys.

“Serving our great city is an honor, and I am excited to see Pflugerville’s continued growth during my service in office,” Mayor Victor Gonzales said.

New Fulfillment Center –  El Paso, Texas

The company announced another fulfillment center in the state of Texas, its first center in El Paso, Texas. The new 625,000 square-foot fulfillment center fulfillment center, which is expected to launch in 2021, will create over 700 new, full-time jobs.

“We’re excited to be growing our operations in West Texas and look forward to building out our network in El Paso,” said Alicia Boler Davis, Amazon’s vice president of global customer fulfillment.

“Three years ago we held a press conference about our plans to try and get Amazon to El Paso. Today my administration delivered,” said El Paso Mayor Dee Margo.

“I’m so proud of the teamwork and collaboration between Amazon, the City, the County, and Borderplex Alliance. We’re making tremendous strides together, and our city has a bright future,” added Mayor Dee Margo.

New Fulfillment Center – Mt. Juliet, Tennessee

Amazon also continues to invest in Tennessee with plans to open a fulfillment center in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.

The site, which is anticipated to launch in late 2021, will create over 1,000 new, full-time jobs with benefits and opportunities to engage with advanced robotics. The company currently has fulfillment and sortation centers in Charleston, Chattanooga, Lebanon, Murfreesboro, Memphis and Nashville.

“Tennessee is a great state for business and gives us the opportunity to better serve our customers in the region,” said Alicia Boler Davis, Amazon’s vice president of global customer fulfillment.

“As Wilson County recovers from recent tornadoes and the COVID-19 crisis, Amazon’s new 1,000-job facility is a tremendous development for Mt. Juliet. Tennessee has established itself as a logistics hub, and Amazon’s significant investment promises to help Wilson County and Middle Tennessee’s economy rebound,” stated Tennessee Governor Bill Lee.

The Mt. Juliet facility will be Amazon’s second fulfillment center in Tennessee to use innovative robotics technology and the company’s seventh fulfillment center in the Volunteer State.

Amazon employees at the over 855,000-square-foot fulfillment center will pick, pack and ship smaller customer items, such as books, electronics and consumer goods.
