Holiday Season Delivery Battle
With this announcement, Amazon is laying down the gauntlet again by directly combating the 2-day delivery promises offered up by competitors such as Walmart and Target for this season.
It also highlights how eCommerce has changed even for small business operators as delivery speed becomes a significant decision factor for consumers.
Consumers are no longer willing to wait 7 to 10 days for products to arrive. That may work in niche markets, but any small business that operates in larger assortment categories will have to find creative ways to keep up with the giant online retailers.
